In a 2015 consumer survey by the Spiegel Institut and Hermes Pharma, over 40% of adults reported difficulty swallowing pills—and nearly 10% stopped taking supplements because of it.
Our story starts in 2019 when our co-founder and CEO, Ju Young Yoo, was a student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. In his clinical work, Ju noticed his patients weren’t sticking to their supplements protocols because they struggled with pill fatigue or swallowing pills.
Although they were becoming popular, gummy supplements were more like candy than supplements: Filled with sugars and artificial ingredients, and so low in potency, Ju couldn’t recommend them to his patients. He knew there had to be a better way—so he created it.In 2019, we launched our first gummy supplement, Restful Sleep, which became an overnight success (so to speak), thanks to its pill-like potency and candy-like craveability, all without sugar or sugar alcohols. Just clean ingredients and a holistic formula for noticeable results—the benchmark for all our gummies.
In 2020, our co-founder, Alexandra Azouri, partnered with Ju to make SUKU Vitamins a household name. Backed by her experience in marketing and philanthropy, today we’re known as more than just the Internet’s favourite gummy supplement: We’re known for changing lives through wellness.
